Featuring our wholly owned Kodak Reference Archive Writer and with over nine million frame images produced to date, our experienced preservation staff have perfected the process of producing outstanding 16mm microfilm.

Whether you require comic (landscape) or cine (portrait) mode orientation, simplex or duplex, or a combination of both along with other special microfilm requirements, DDPSI is extremely experienced to customize the right configuration for your microfilm requirements.

In order to assist you in determining your microfilm requirements, our preservation staff have composed the following facts about our microfilm services. With our already low price per frame, you will receive the following:

1 Kodak Genuine Original Microfilm (Silver-Halide 215' or 100')
Preprocess Microfilm Handling
- image file transfer to DDPSI's processing server from CD/DVD media or via FTP
- image file rename to ensure proper file/frame sequence order
- image rotation for comic mode orientation if required
- image conversion to required TIFF G4 Single Strip format (PDF, EBCDIC, & ASCII conversion support available)
- automatic reduction ratio check/verification
- dynamic film specification setup
- film (start/end) targets setup including Methylene Blue Test Certificate if required

Getting started is quick and easy. For each microfilm project/job, our preservation staff will assist you in defining the following specifications and requirements:

Density Level (0.80 ~ 1.10)
Comic (landscape) or Cine (portrait) Mode
Simplex or Duplex
Scaling/Reduction Ratio (20 ~ 60x) [Note: Ratio will automatically be verified prior to filming]
Blip Levels/Image Marks (None, 1, or 2)
Image Address format if required
Start and End Targets including Resolution and Methylene Blue Test Certificate if required
215' or 100' length film (Both lengths are now available and supported)
Minimum start and end leader lengths (if applicable)
Negative or Positive Polarity

Additionally, our normal processing time is 5-7 business days contingent on the volume and priority status. Expedited services are also available at additional costs.
